Bronze, taupe, peach, and copper area fairly universal colors for most skin tones and eye colors, but there’s something about this color scheme that really complements blue eyes. And especially because it’s best not to go too heavy on the eye makeup for a set of blue peepers, (that goes for my fair, blond-haired, blue-eyed gals!) these are great colors to play around with and create the perfect subtle smokey eye or something more light and fresh.
I created a look that’s somewhere in the middle wearing a pair of blue contacts to demonstrate! A video tutorial will be up on my YouTube channel on Thursday, but here’s a breakdown of the products I used:
First, you’ll notice my face is a bit more tan than usual. I am loving the Million Dollar Tan lotions and sprays; I used the Cabana Tan Extreme Face lotion and the spray on my body. It’s become my #1 favorite tanning product because, for one thing, it doesn’t smell like most tanning solutions… It smells like coconut!! Every time I open the bottle I get a whiff of a tropical paradise, it just smells so good. And more importantly, it’s paraben free and also free of animal testing. I’m really impressed with Million Dollar Tan, it’s a definite must-have!
1. For my foundation, I used the Flower Skincognito Foundation Stick in SF5.
2. Believe it or not, all the eyeshadow I used is in the Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips. It comes in different colors; I used the Waiki Strip. The colors are separated into strips so it’s easy to pick out whether you want to use one of the lighter or darker colors.
3. To finish off the eyes, I used Flower’s Easy on the Eyes Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Black. And since I really wanted the lashes to stand out, I used two of my favorite mascaras: Origins GinZing Mascara and Eyeko Skinny Brush Mascara.
4. Talk about multitasking: I used the Shimmer Strips as my bronzer, too! That’s technically what it’s meant for, and I always use it to add a bronze glow over my face.
5. To add a little color to my cheeks, I used NARS Orgasm. It’s the perfect peachy shimmer for this color scheme.
6. Finally, I added a gorgeous nude/blush lipstick using Flower Kiss Stick Velvet Lip Color in Petal Kiss.
